Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War Gets Multiplayer Details in Trailer With Open Beta Dates Reveals

Activision revealed multiplayer details for the Treyarch and Raven Software-developed Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War coming to PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC-via Battle.net on November 13, with PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X version planned for a holiday 2020 release.

Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War’s multiplayer offerings will find players navigating historical settings from the early 1980s Cold War. Players can choose from a handful of maps that cover a variety of themes such as deserts and frozen lakes.

Players can also choose from a few different multiplayer modes, including VIP escort, where 6v6 groups will go head to head, but one of the members becomes a VIP target. During this mode, the other players need to defend the VIP player and lead them to an extraction point.

Additional modes include Combined Arms, which is a 12v12 mode, and combines infantry and vehicular gameplay. This mode features exclusive maps as well as includes a variety of other modes such as Domination. Fireteam is a 40 player mode where four teams of 10 will face off, but more information about this mode will be revealed later.

More information about loadouts and gameplay can be found on the game’s blog page.

The publisher also revealed that PlayStation 4 owners could participate in Early Access for those who pre-ordered the game on October 8 through October 9, and Open Beta will also be available for all PS4 players from October 10 through 12.

Xbox One players will need to wait until the crossplay beta happens on Eary Access from October 15 through 16, with an open beta from all platforms from October 17 through October 19.

During Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War’s campaign, players will find themselves in the 1980s as a conspiracy unfolds. The story will center around historical figures as players learn the truth about some of the battles that took place around the world. During the campaign, players will visit East Berlin, Turkey, Vietnam, and Soviet-era Moscow as they try and stop a plot that aims to tip the global balance of power.
