Call of Cthulhu Gets October Release Date for Switch in New Trailer

Publisher Focus Home Interactive has announced that the survival horror adventure Call of Cthulhu, developed by Cyanide, will make its way to Nintendo Switch on October 8 for $39.99, letting even more players enjoy all of its cosmic horror experiences. Pre-orders are now available.

This videogame adaptation of Chaosium’s pen and paper RPG combines Lovecraft’s Cthulhu Mythos and choice-driven investigative gameplay to conjure a terrifying beast that’s bound to give players nightmares.

In the game, nothing is as it seems, terrible creatures and misleading characters await the player on the island of Darkwater. The story follows private investigator Edward Pierce, who is investigating the strange happenings and murder of Serah Hawkins. However, he seems to begin to lose his mind, and the only hope to retain his sanity is solving this difficult case.

Gameplay has players investigating through the world as Pierce attempts to determine what is real or an illusion. The game puts a doubt on the player’s sense of reality and offers a choice system that changes the narrative.

Those worried that the Switch version will be “inferior” have nothing to fear as it will be the complete Call of Cthulhu experience. In case you’d like to know more about the game, check out our review.
