The Caligula Effect 2 Gets English Release Date in New Systems Trailer

NIS America has launched a new trailer for the Historia and Furyu-developed action RPG The Caligula Effect 2, coming to PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch.

This trailer shows several of the upcoming game’s systems in loose detail, such as the refined versions of various mechanics from the first entry; ‘Imaginary Chain,’ ‘Risk Breaking,’ Wire texting, and optional AI party control. It also shows off the ‘X Jack’ mechanic that will allow you to temporarily overwrite the background music to buff your team.

You can find the trailer below.

The Caligula Effect 2 introduces players to a virtuadoll named Regret, who has created the world of Redo to save people from their past regrets by unknowingly imprisoning them in a simulation. However, this “paradise” is shaken to the core when a virtual idol named χ breaks into Regret’s virtual reality and restores a high school student’s memories of the real world. They re-establish the Go-Home Club to escape Redo, a resistance group that seeks to fight against Regret and her enforcers, the Obbligato Musicians.

The Caligula Effect 2 launches in the west on October 19 in North America and October 22nd in Europe for PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch. No PC release has been announced as of yet. We’ll keep you apprised of any future details.
