Visual Novel ‘Café Stella and the Reaper’s Butterflies’ Launches on PC in the West
NekoNyan Soft has launched Café Stella and the Reaper’s Butterflies. The visual novel developed by Yuzusoft is available for PC-via Steam and other online storefronts. As with their other releases, the game will include English, Japanese, and Chinese (Traditional and Simplified) language options.
Set in the same universe as Senren Banka, the game tells the story of a young man called Takamine Kousei. He was living a relaxing college lifestyle until he died in an accident. However, when he opened his eyes, he found himself reliving the same day he died.
He returns to the place of his death and meets a death goddess who informs him that he hasn’t escaped death and he must assist her with work. Instead of a grisly tale, what this actually means is that he has to work in a café with her from now on. It’s now up in the air if his actions will eventually lead him to defy fate or not.
Released in Japan in 2019, Café Stella and the Reaper’s Butterflies received multiple awards, being highly regarded for its art, music, and characters. The story is co-written by Amamiya Ritsu, Kazuki Fumi, and Seo Jun, with illustrations by Kobuichi and Muririn. The chibi/SD arts are made by Komowata Haruka, and the soundtrack is composed by Famishin. It also includes special ending themes for each character.
