Bump of Chicken’s Gotcha for Pokemon Has Been on Replay for me Since it Released
This morning was enjoyable for Pokemon fans after getting the team announced that the Crown Tundra expansion will launch on October 10 for fans to jump back into the game and experience a new region with new Pokemon.
However, it was after the event that really caught my attention as the Japanese rock band, Bump of Chicken, performed their song Gotcha behind an animated music video. The vide featured many scenes of trainers that players will recognize as they show some of the adventures that they’ve been on.
The entire music video is full of nostalgia and memories, and it gets wildly emotional. The music goes so well with the animation as it fuels each scene for more effective delivery. It’s tough to watch without getting a little teary-eyed as it forces you to remember those long nights on your Game Boy with a lamp playing some of your first adventures or connecting with your friends a Pokemon battle.
Bump of Chicken is no stranger to video game music as each of the members are outspoken video game lovers. They have previously been featured on Final Fantasy Type-0 and even have a song with Hatsune Miku. Their music is also used for anime openings as well.
This was such a generous gift from the band and The Pokemon Company if only to reignite these memories.
Let me know what you think of the song and the music video; you can watch it below:
