The prequel title to this series is Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity.
Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity takes place a century before the events of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild during the time of the Great Calamity. Hyrule is devoured by darkness, and evil has transformed the kingdom. The story within the game expands on what happened during this dark time for Hyrule with the addition of new characters and environments.
During Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity, players will be able to assume the role of Link, Zelda, and four other characters as they travel through Hyrule and take advantage of the over-the-top action that only Musou games can provide. Additionally, players can solve environmental puzzles, unlock new weapons, craft materials, and level up the party to get more powerful and face the danger that is approaching.
