I Did Not Buy This Ticket‘s creator Tiago Rech has announced his new project. The narrative adventure game I Shall Name the Dead is coming to PC (Steam), though the developer has not provided a release window yet.
I Shall Name the Dead is a horror interactive story that takes place in a cemetery on the Metropolis. There, many dead people are treated with no dignity, left with no grave due to not having names or known identities.
It’s Imaculada’s mission to speak to the dead and uncover their forgotten names. As the player, it’s possible to investigate clues and get ever closer to their names, giving them a chance to finally have some respite.
While no jumpscares or anything of the sort is part of the experience, the player will have to deal with a being gnawing at Imaculada’s insides. The Worm is always getting closer, affecting Imaculada’s thoughts in many ways, which can affect the dialogue choices.
By burning matches, players will be able to keep The Worm at bay. As a result, besides choosing how to explore the cemetery and talking to those who live there, the player will also have to think about how to respond to this creature overtaking her mind.
Though I Shall Name the Dead is still in development, the Steam page includes some of the unique, creepy imagery by illustrator Lirio Ninotchka. Lirio and Tiago had previously worked on I Did Not Buy This Ticket together.
