Originally released on Nintendo Switch and Steam, Brawlout will now feature new characters and modes for its new versions. New characters will include collaborations between other indie titles including the recently added Yooka-Laylee at the game’s launch. Also, this fall, players can play as the headless protagonist from Dead Cells.
In the past Brawlout has announced other collaboration characters from indie titles including Guacamelee! and Hyper Light Drifter.
Additionally, Xbox One players will gain access to an exclusive party-mode the drops combatants into a series of play modes which will mix things up for local matches as well as online battles.
Exclusive pre-order bonuses for PS4 and Xbox One are also revealed as Mighty Paco and Mascot Feathers skins.
The developer details the key features:
- Choose from six combatants (each with variants that change up their look, moves, and playstyle) in addition to guests from indie hits Hyper Light Drifter, Guacamelee!, Yooka-Laylee, and Dead Cells
- Host up to 4 players in online and local battles

Author’s take: Brawlout is a quirky game that is great to pull out when you have a group of friends around. Problem: I don’t have friends. Oh well, there’s always the online modes.
