Borderlands 3 Ultimate Edition Announced for Switch; Releasing October 2023

2K has announced the Gearbox Software-developed Borderlands 3 Ultimate Edition for Nintendo Switch, planned to launch on October 6, 2023, for $59.99. Aside from the base game, the following contents will be included:

  • “Moxxi’s Heist of the Handsome Jackpot”
  • “Guns, Love, and Tentacles: The Marriage of Wainwright & Hammerlock”
  • “Bounty of Blood”
  • “Psycho Krieg and the Fantastic Fustercluck”
  • “Designer’s Cut”
  • “Director’s Cut”
  • Over 30 cosmetic items

Borderlands 3 continues the Borderlands story by introducing fans to a handful of new weapons and characters. Players will assume the role of one of four of the new Vault Hunters, in solo or online modes, to take on enemies and collect loot.

The game’s narrative focuses on the group of characters putting a stop to the Calypso Twins, who are uniting the bandit clans and claiming the galaxy’s ultimate power. Each Vault Hunter has a unique ability and playstyle with deep customize and skill trees available to the player. While its story was not well-received by fans, many love the gunplay and customization found in this entry, alongside some pretty fun co-op.

Borderlands 3 is currently available on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.

Borderlands Collection: Pandora’s Box was recently announced for all platforms sans Switch.
