Skating Graffiti Adventure ‘Bomb Rush Cyberfunk’ Confirms PlayStation & Xbox Release Shortly After PC & Switch Launch

Team Reptile announced that their 3D action adventure platformer, Bomb Rush Cyberfunk, will also launch for PlayStation and Xbox platforms later this year, shortly after the previously confirmed Nintendo Switch and PC release.

No specific date was provided, but we’ll be sure to keep you all updated as significant announcements are made.

You can view the full message from director Dion Koster below:

“Hey everyone, Dion here. As you know 18 Augustus is when Bomb Rush Cyberfunk comes out on Steam and on Nintendo Switch. We are hereby also announcing the game will release on Playstation and Xbox shortly afterwards, making it a full multiplat release.

Right now we are doing the final touches on the game. Making this game has been a great time, a very natural avenue for us and a personal one for me. That is not to say there were no difficulties, but already the fact that I am dancing in my own game certainly makes me feel that it goes beyond the idea of a product. Heading more into having a blast and just expressing ourselves.

This way of thinking has evolved during the course of the development of BRC and I can still see so much more depth to explore in the mixture of street and fiction, cyber and funk. So that’s why, regardless of reception, I would like to formally announce we will be creating more of these type of games after Bomb Rush Cyberfunk.”

Throughout Bomb Rush Cyberfunk, players control protagonist Red, a graffiti writer who had his head cut off and replaced with a robotic one. He then joins the Bomb Rush Crew comprising Tryce and Bell. They aim to travel to All City to learn who cut off Red’s head and how deeply his human side connects with the world of graffiti.

Players will explore the city’s five boroughs to gain rep, challenge rival crews, and hit up graffiti spots. New members can also join the crew with a variety of customization for music and cosmetics.

Gameplay utilizes “skateboarding, inline skating or BMX style tricks” with a ” unique environment-based trick system elevated by special Boost Tricks. Achieving lengthier combos will grant higher scores and boost power. Moreover, the military police in the vicinity have a dynamic difficulty that scales the more you vandalize.

Bomb Rush Cyberfunk will launch for Nintendo Switch and PC via Steam on August 18, 2023.
