Blue Reflection: Second Light Could Receive a PS5 Update Depending on How It’s Received

It’s no secret that PlayStation 5 owners are begging for games to play, and I feel like Japanese developers need to meet that demand with their upcoming lineup of titles. Unfortunately, we’re in a strange middle ground where we still have game releases that don’t have a PS5 version, although it’s said that backward compatibility improves the PS4 versions.

However, when Atelier Ryza 2 received a PS5 release, I was sure we’d see more current-gen releases from publisher Koei Tecmo, but we haven’t. With developer Gust’s upcoming game, Blue Reflection: Second Light, releasing soon, we had the opportunity to ask development producer Akira Tsuchiya if fans could expect some PS5 enhancements.

Sadly, we received the tried and true response of, ‘We don’t have any plans for a PS5 version, but we’ll see what kind of response there is.” So we’ll have to wait and see how the community approaches this new adventure. Tsuchiya-san also shared how the visual of this new entry differ from the preview, saying, “Graphically, it has been greatly upgraded from the previous game, and players can feel even more like they’re ‘actually there.'”

We’ll be sure to share the full interview with Tsuchiya-san soon.

In case you missed it, check out our preview.
