Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night Reveals ‘Zangetsu’ Voiced By David Hayter As Free Playable Character

505 Games announced a new playable character for the Artplay developed Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night from Koji Igarashi is now available for pre-order on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC-via Steam and GOG on June 18, with the Nintendo Switch version launching on June 25.

Along with a short gameplay reveal trailer, Zangetsu will be made a free playable character after launch. Zangetsu carries a resentment towards the demons and nothing will stand in his way of getting his vengeance. He is a demon hunter voiced by no other than David Hayter (Snake from the Metal Gear series) and will introduce new ways for the character to take out enemies.

Zangetsu is armed with a Katan that will slice through enemies with the help of an elemental talisman that provides him magic. Players will use a Chain Hook to discover new areas and get through environments as well.

Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night is set in 18th century England where a dark force has caused a castle to appear bringing with it powerful crystal shards. Players will assume the role of Miriam, an orphan who has been cursed by an alchemist which slowly crystallizes her body. In order to save herself and the world, Miriam fights through the castle to defeat the summoner Gebel and his minions. Along the way, she will be able to collect, craft, and unlock various weapons and equipment to help her on her quest.
