Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night x Journey Crossover Update Now Available

Publisher 505 Games and developer ArtPlay Games have announced that their metroidvania title, Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night, has recently launched its update containing new gameplay content correlating to the adventure title Journey. The news of this arrival was announced last week.

A new playable area, The Tunnels, was added, directly referencing the aesthetics of Journey. A new boss also lays at the end of the new map, the Guardian Dragon, which grants the Mystical Red Scarf equipment when defeated. This item enhances the Defense, Intellect, and Mind stats while also offering increased resistance to Fire and Light.

The following implementations were also provided:

  • Fixed an issue with save and warp rooms randomizing when option was set to unchanged in Randomizer
  • Fixed an issue with a timestamp error on Nintendo Switch version
  • Fixed an issue where commands displayed is not updated for the custom controller configuration.
  • General bug fixing

Players can experience this new content on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, Stadia, and Luna via streaming, as well as on PC via Steam, GOG, EA Origin, and Game Pass.

Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night is set in 18th century England where a dark force has caused a castle to appear, bringing with it powerful crystal shards. Players will assume the role of Miriam, an orphan who has been cursed by an alchemist, which slowly crystallizes her body. Miriam fights through the castle to defeat the summoner Gebel and his minions to save herself and the world. Along the way, she will be able to collect, craft, and unlock various weapons and equipment to help her on her quest.

Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night is currently available for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, PC via Steam, Google Stadia, and Mobile.
