505 Games announced that the Artplay developed Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night from Koji Igarashi has sold one million copies worldwide across its PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC release.
To celebrate, the developer has revealed the upcoming free DLC set to launch on June 23 for PS4, Xbox One, and PC, and in July for Switch along with a roadmap of new DLC.
The DLC will include a Boss Revenge Mode, which has been attributed to community feedback on the Kickstarter. Players can enter the transition room in-game and face off against four bosses to try and get the best clear time. Additionally, a Chroma Wheel for deep character customization, which is accessible by talking to Todd the Barber.
The team also outlined what they have coming up, Chaos Mode, Vs. Mode, special crossover content, Classic Mode, More cross over content, and a new playable character.
Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night is set in 18th century England where a dark force has caused a castle to appear bringing with it powerful crystal shards. Players will assume the role of Miriam, an orphan who has been cursed by an alchemist which slowly crystallizes her body. In order to save herself and the world, Miriam fights through the castle to defeat the summoner Gebel and his minions. Along the way, she will be able to collect, craft, and unlock various weapons and equipment to help her on her quest.
