505 Games released a statement for players who are experiencing issues while playing the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One version of Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night.
Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night recently launched on PS4, Xbox One, and PC, with a Nintendo Switch release arriving on June 25. It just so happened that the developers pushed out a patch that could potentially force players to restart their game, titled Patch 1.02.
PS4 and Xbox One players who started the game before downloading Patch 1.02 might experience a bug where treasure chests will appear in the incorrect open/closed state. However, this causes players to have their progress blocked since they can’t access items needed to get through certain areas. Downloading Patch 1.02 will fix the issue, but players will be expected to restart their game with a new save file.
Currently, the patch is only available for the PS4 version of the game. The Xbox One version is scheduled to release next week. Players who plan on purchasing the physical Switch version of the game are asked to download the patch before playing to avoid any issues.
Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night is set in 18th century England where a dark force has caused a castle to appear bringing with it powerful crystal shards. Players will assume the role of Miriam, an orphan who has been cursed by an alchemist which slowly crystallizes her body. In order to save herself and the world, Miriam fights through the castle to defeat the summoner Gebel and his minions. Along the way, she will be able to collect, craft, and unlock various weapons and equipment to help her on her quest.
