Blazing Rangers Launches Free Demo, But You Need an NES Emulator to Play It
First Press Games announced that players can play a free demo of the Karu Games-developed retro puzzle adventure Blazing Rangers, on the game’s itchi.io page, with the full release planned for April or May 2021 on Nintendo and Famicom.
With pre-orders for Blazing Rangers available now, players can download the demo to experience some of the levels before the official launch. When the full game releases, it will be available on NES and FC, so the demo download will require players to download a compatible NES emulator to play. I find it pretty cool, but it does add an extra step to those just wanting to quickly check out the game.
Those who wish to pick a physical release have a few options depending on the region. There are JP, EU, and NA cartridges available to players and limited edition items, but the game can be purchased as a standalone cartridge.
Blazing Rangers features 32 challenging levels where players assume the role of a firefighter putting out fires. There are secrets to discover, along with a few different power-ups to take on the enemies. There are two different game modes and 2-player co-op options where a 2nd player can join at any time. There’s also RNG where enemies can spawn at any time, making each run unique.
