Contra-Metal-Slug Homage ‘Blazing Chrome’ Shows Off New Stage in Gameplay Video
JoyMasher released new gameplay from their Contra-Metal-Slug homage retro arcade shooter Blazing Chrome, coming to PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and PC at an unannounced date.
Aimed to kick off the new year for the developer, the new gameplay showcases stage 4-1. This also features gameplay showing the characters select screen and title screen. In the gameplay video, players can get a preview of the game’s enemies, weapon loads, and speed of the game that resembles classic run and gun arcade shooters from the past.
Blazing Chrome is a two-person developed game that tells the story of a human fighter named Mavra and a robotic insurgent named Doyle, as they blast their way through hordes of enemies. The game features a 16-bit color pallet with all explosions and carnage that you’d expect from an arcade shooter, and that we wouldn’t have it any other way.
In case you missed it, the developer recently released a short documentary about their time working on the game and the hardships that they encounter.
You can watch the gameplay below:
Author’s take: Damn this game looks great! I honestly, can’t wait until it gets a release date because this looks like the perfect game to play co-op with friends for a frustratingly fun time.
