Contra-Metal-Slug Homage ‘Blazing Chrome’ Gets Release Date and Reveals New Characters in Trailer
The Arcade Crew announced that the JoyMasher developed run-and-gun platformer Blazing Chrome will launch on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC-via Steam on July 11.
To celebrate the release date announcement, the publisher released a new trailer showing gameplay as well as hidden characters. During gameplay, players will be able to unlock new character Suhaila, a razor girl with a robotic arm as well as Raijin, a deadly ninja. These new characters will allow players to play through Blazing Chrome in a new way to add to the game’s replayable nature.
Blazing Chrome is a two-person developed game that tells the story of a human fighter named Mavra and a robotic insurgent named Doyle, as they blast their way through hordes of enemies. The game features a 16-bit color pallet with all explosions and carnage that you’d expect from an arcade shooter, and that we wouldn’t have it any other way.
In case you missed it, the developer recently released a short documentary about their time working on the game and the hardships that they encounter. Also, if you want to check out gameplay from one of the Blazing Chrome’s levels, the developer released a video showing the game running at 60fps.
