Inti Creates announced that they will bring the Blaster Master Zero 2 to PlayStation 4 on June 29, a physical release will be provided by Limited Run Games.
Blaster Master Zero 2 is set in space and introduces new characters who Jason and Eve will encounter throughout the adventure. During the game, players play as Jason who traverses the universe in the trusty G-Sophia. However, he will need to leave Sophia in order to enter dungeons and take out enemies and the arguably weaker human character. Jason can now counter enemy attacks with the Blast Counter and chain these together to take out multiple enemies.
Since the game’s 2019 launch on Nintendo Switch, the developer has been launching new character updates for owners. The announcement doesn’t mention if these characters will be available by launch, but we can assume they are coming.
In our previous coverage, we spoke with Inti Creates’ Producer and Localization Editor Matt Papa on the updates to this sequel, “Blaster Master Zero 2 has seen a variety of improvements to its gameplay mechanics, story, and layout. Matt adds, “Weapons have been rethought and rebalanced, sorry folks, no relying on just the Wave gun from BMZ1 anymore, the story is much more engaging with all the new environments and characters, even pulling at the ol’ heartstrings at times too, and new mechanics like gaining SP for your SOPHIA tank by taking damage/falling from tall heights with the Gaia System, and the Blast Counter system for Jason completely evolve how the side-scrolling and top-down segments work.”
Limited Run Games will provide a physical release bundled with both titles available along with a bunch of other goods for $129.99. You can check that out below.
