Punishing Action-Platformer ‘Blasphemous’ Gets PS4, Xbox One, Switch, and PC Release Date

Team17 announced that the Game Kitchen developed action-platformer Blasphemous is coming to PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC on September 10 for $24.99.

Blasphemous has players take on the role of The Penitent One in the land of Cvstodia, where a curse known as The Miracle has fallen upon the region. Players will need to explore the world as well as this twisted religion and discover the many secrets hidden inside.

“As we put the final finishing touches to what will be an unrelenting experience for players, we’re really proud to be in a position to confirm the September 10th release date for Blasphemous. We know the game has been highly anticipated for some time, and we can’t wait to unleash The Penitent One on their perilous journey in just a few weeks’ time.”

During gameplay, players will utilize combos and various attacks to get through enemies who stand in their way. The game features pixel art designs and plenty of blood to make anyone feel a little sick. The game also features bosses that require a bit of strategy and planning as players need to memorize their attack patterns.

Players will be able to customize their character by learning new skills and upgrading their character’s abilities. Such as with a “Sacred Lunge”, which perfects the lunge technique and makes better use of the dodge impulse to make it reach further.

Additionally, the publisher released a new gameplay trailer, which you can watch below:
