The Far Cry 6 Reveal Was Cool, but Where’s Beyond Good and Evil 2?

Ubisoft Forward was Ubisoft’s way of bringing an E3 style presentation to fans with game release date announcements and reveals. In contrast, the presentation did a great job showing new gameplay details for Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, a release date for Watch Dogs: Legion, and even the reveal of Far Cry 6, but where the hell is Beyond Good and Evil 2.

Revealed during E3 2017, Beyond Good and Evil 2 blew fans away as it is a gameplay that many have been waiting for. As a follow up to 2003’s Beyond Good and Evil, players were brought back to this pirate-filled world and were even introduced to some new characters and an open world environment.

Still, there hasn’t been much information after that other than a few new details and it even skipped E3 2018. I think it was a missed opportunity to talk about the game during this live stream to let fans know that the team is still working on the title. However, Ubisoft did say that they plan on hosting another Ubisoft Forward later this year. I hope they plan on designating some time to the game for those looking forward to it.

Beyond Good and Evil 2 acts as the spiritual successor to the original game, but more of a prequel that aims to capture the spirit of the original game by building on the narrative.

During the game, players will learn about System 3, which has become the center of interstellar trade and colonization in the Milky Way of the 24th century but at the cost of Hybrid slaves. What became of this new world saw the rise of piracy, which is what the player will begin their journey as. Throughout the adventure, players will find themselves rising in the ranks and finding their place in the world.
