Nintendo has announced that the original Bayonetta will be receiving a physical release for the Switch on September 30, 2022, with a suggested retail price of $29.99. With this version, fans can physically own each entry of the series later this year.
This news was accompanied by the recent information drop of the highly anticipated Bayonetta 3.
Bayonetta is an action-adventure title featuring everyone’s favorite heroine Bayonetta. In an attempt to remember her past, the Umbra Witch jumps straight into battle to take out her enemies and piece together the truth. Her abilities include long combos and shapeshifting into various animal forms. She can also summon demons with her hair, which is always a sight to behold.
Following its initial release, it grew a sizeable fanbase, though its sequel would only occur thanks to Nintendo providing the team with the funds and means for it to happen. This sequel, Bayonetta 2, was initially a Wii U-exclusive before being brought over to Nintendo Switch. And while it’s certainly far more mixed in reception than the original game, it’s undeniably enjoyable in its own right. At the very least, Bayonetta 3 is shaping up to be a heavy hitter of its own when it fully launches later this October.
