Tactical Roguelite Strategy ‘Battlestar Galactica: Scattered Hopes’ Launches May 11; New Trailer Streaming Now

Dotemu has announced that Battlestar Galactica: Scattered Hopes will launch on PC via Steam on May 11. Developed by Alt Shift in collaboration with Universal Products & Experiences, the game adapts the Battlestar Galactica universe into a tactical roguelite focused on fleet management and survival.

The project follows Dotemu’s recent publishing efforts, which include titles like Absolum and MARVEL Cosmic Invasion. Alt Shift is known for its previous work on Crying Suns, which also blended strategy systems with narrative-driven progression.

In Scattered Hopes, you take command of a fleeing fleet after the fall of the Twelve Colonies. Gameplay centers on managing limited resources while staying ahead of constant Cylon pursuit. Crew members must be assigned to tasks such as repairing ships, resolving internal disputes, and exploring unknown locations for supplies and survivors. Threats can emerge both externally and from within, as hidden Cylons and escalating crises disrupt operations.

Combat plays out in a hybrid real-time tactical format. You deploy squadrons from your hangars to intercept incoming enemies while defending your flagship. Encounters are structured around holding off attacks long enough to execute a jump to safety, echoing the tension of the series’ “33” episode. Each jump leads to new scenarios, forcing trade-offs between risk, resources, and long-term survival.

The roguelite structure means each run unfolds differently. Progress unlocks additional squadrons, weapons, and upgrades that carry into future attempts, gradually expanding your tactical options. Your decisions shape how long the fleet lasts as the pressure from the Cylons continues to mount.

A new gameplay trailer was released alongside the announcement, showing updated looks at the Cylons and combat systems ahead of launch.

Battlestar Galactica: Scattered Hopes arrives on PC via Steam on May 11.
