Highly Anticipated Arcade Indie Game Battle Princess Madelyn Is Coming This Fall

The wait is almost over for Battle Princess Madelyn as Hound Pick Games and Casual Bit Games have confirmed the launch window for the highly anticipated and acclaimed classic arcade action game. Thanks to a new trailer, we now know that Battle Princess Madelyn is set to launch this Fall for PS4, Xbox One, PC, Nintendo Switch, PS Vita, and Wii U. The exact release day will be announced soon. 

Battle Princess Madelyn follows the epic journey of Madelyn, a young, inexperienced knight in training and her trusty ghostly dog, Fritzy. As a dynamic duo, they two are on a quest to save Madelyn’s kingdom and her family, who are having a bit of trouble with one wicked wizard.

Inspired by action-platformer classics like the Ghouls N’ Ghosts and Wonder Boy III: The Dragon’s Trap, Battle Princess Madelyn has old-school arcade action that’ll keep you on your toes. If the game is too difficult at first, no worries — you can adjust the difficulty to your heart’s desire.

Along with good ol’ action, expect to experience plenty of epic adventures with Madelyn and Fritzy. There will be ten levels to take on in Battle Princess Madelyn, and each level will have up to five stages to complete. An old-school action platformer isn’t complete without some loot and secrets. During Madelyn’s quest, you’ll have the chance to upgrade weapons, find special weapons, get special collectibles, and discover hidden areas.

While the gameplay was inspired by old-school arcade games, the overall idea for Battle Princess Madelyn has formed thanks to the daughter of Christopher Obritsch, CEO and Creative Designer at Casual Bit Games. In a press release, Christopher explained the inspiration for the game in more detail:

“From its initial concept days, right through the successful Kickstarter campaign which reached over $212,665 CAD, until its imminent release, Battle Princess Madelyn has developed and grown from inspiration from feedback from my daughter, who inspired the original idea, gamers and ideals from the very best of classic retro games fused with modern presentation complete with gameplay and fun. I believe all our goals have been achieved with much much more added ingredients, features, and elements that will have gamers engaged in a game that has been crafted with real planning, dedication and, a lot of love.”
