CE-Asia announced that the Azure Flame Studio-developed strategy RPG Banner of the Maid will launch on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch later in 2020.
The console version will be a port of the PC version, which has been receiving updates since launch. These balancing updates alter missions and the UI, so hopefully, the game is fully ready for a console launch as a definitive version of the game.
Banner of the Maid was previously only available in Chinese, but since its May 2019 release, the developers have been working on bringing the game to western territories. The reason for the game’s extended localization was due to the 300,000 words found in the story. The team also gives a shout out to the player Nāk and beta players to make the English release possible.
Banner of the Maid is set in the 1790s during the French Revolution. The House of Bourbon is collapsing, and various factions are aiming to strike. Officer Paulin Bonaparte is tasted with leading her troops to victory, but that’s easier said than done. Evidently, she is also a “Maid,” one of the fabled women who has mysterious powers.
During gameplay, players will control units through turn-based strategy combat. The game requires planning and skill to get through each encounter. Players can level up units and build their forces throughout the game’s deep narrative. The story highlights more than 30 characters across main and side missions. Each character has their own illustration and abilities that can be customized by the player.
