Bandai Namco to Create a “Variety of Content” Around Akira Toriyama’s Sand Land; Beginning With an Anime

Previously, Band Namco released a short trailer announcing they will co-produce the Sand Land anime in collaboration with Sunrise Studio, Kamikaze, and ANIMA for a 2023 release.

Today, we learned that the publisher will continue to grow this IP across a variety of content, likely not limited to just the anime, but may include a video game.

Bandai Namco would be the perfect publisher for this, given that they have previously worked on Dragon Ball-related content and other IPs. Their goal is to develop Sand Land into a full IP.

Sand Land was created by Dragon Ball creator Akira Toriyama and published as part of Weekly Shonen Jump from May 22, 2000, through August 28, 2000.

Not much information was provided outside of the trailer, but Bandai Namco charged that “The Sand Land project will introduce you to the world, characters, and vehicles from Sand Land through various collaborations and mediums.”

We’ll keep you updated with any announcements surrounding Sand Land.
