Baldur’s Gate 3 Still Targeting December Xbox Release; Release Date to be Revealed at The Game Awards
Larian Studios is letting Xbox players know that the wait won’t be too much longer now for Baldur’s Gate 3. After leaving Early Access on PC on August 3, 2023, the game was released on PlayStation 5 on September 6, 2023. However, Xbox players have been waiting patiently, probably blowing up the developer Support email alias, for a release date.
Well, don’t worry, Larian Studios tweeted, “Xbox players, we hear you’re looking for more news on Baldur’s Gate 3. The game is on track for a December release.”
In order to not leave fans on a cliffhanger, they shared, “We’ll see you at The Game Awards for the World Premiere™ of the exact release date.”
The Game Awards will premiere on December 7, 2023, from 7:30 PM to 11:00 PM EST.
Interestingly, the Xbox Series X and Series S versions will not have parity, with the not set to have split-screen co-op. The Series S has been something of a conundrum for developers, so it’s nice to see it sorted out here.
Baldur’s Gate 3 invites players to re-enter the enchanting world of the Forgotten Realms, embarking on a captivating journey filled with themes of fellowship, betrayal, sacrifice, survival, and the alluring allure of ultimate power.
Within the game, players find themselves imbued with enigmatic abilities awakened by a mind flayer parasite residing in their minds. The path forward offers two choices: resist the darkness and wield its power against itself, or embrace corruption and transform into the embodiment of evil.
Developed by the creators of Divinity: Original Sin 2, Baldur’s Gate 3 represents a next-generation RPG set in the illustrious Dungeons & Dragons universe. Players have the freedom to select from 12 distinct classes and 11 races directly from the D&D Player’s Handbook, forging their own unique identity. Alternatively, they can opt to become an Origin hero, complete with a meticulously crafted background. For those seeking a deeper connection with their inner corruption, the Dark Urge Origin hero offers fully customizable mechanics and a unique storyline. Regardless of the chosen path, players will explore, discover, engage in battles, and even forge romantic connections while traversing the vast expanses of the Forgotten Realms and beyond. Assemble a party and take your adventure online, forming a group of up to four adventurers for shared online exploration.
