Baldur’s Gate 3 Wins Best Storytelling, Best Visual Design & Best Game Community at Golden Joysticks 2023; Larian Studios Wins Studio of the Year

The Golden Joysticks 2023 has announced that the Larian Studios-developed adventure Baldur’s Gate 3 has won the awards for Best Storytelling, Best Visual Design, and Best Game Community.

Additionally, Larian Studios itself won the award for Studio of the Year. Plus, Neil Newbon, the voice actor of Astarion, won Best Supporting Performer. And it also won PC Game of the Year.

Lastly, Baldur’s Gate 3 won Ultimate Game of the Year.

All of these rewards are well-deserved since Baldur’s Gate 3 has made waves since its initial launch earlier this year, both critically and from newcomers. The title features an almost overwhelming degree of player choice and customization, ensuring that everybody’s playthrough is unique. Plus, the voice-acting and storytelling are quite beloved.

Baldur’s Gate 3 is available now on PC and PlayStation 5.

An Xbox release was confirmed for later this year, though an exact date has not been provided. Interestingly, the Xbox Series X and Series S versions will not have parity, with the not set to have split-screen co-op. The Series S has been something of a conundrum for developers, so it’s nice to see it sorted out here.
