Larian Studios announced that Baldur’s Gate 3 has a scheduled Early Access release window set for August 2020. However, the company is also adding a “maybe” behind that due to the setbacks of COVID-19.
Additionally, the developer released a new gameplay trailer that highlights the mood and tone of the game. The team aims to push their talent for creating RPGs and push the abilities to an entirely new depth.
Baldur’s Gate 3 was announced during E3 2019 and is a sequel to Baldur’s Gate and Baldur’s Gate II. The game is meant to bring a AAA budget to the RPG to get the most out of the cinematic dialogue, cooperative multiplayer features, and the complete ruleset based on 5th edition Dungeons & Dragons.
The company plans to release more information about the game during D&D Live 2020, taking place on June 18 digitally at the Dungeons & Dragons website. The team will play the game live and allow the community to choose what happens at the end of the demo, which revolves around killing a demon or going down a darker path.
We’ll be sure to keep you updated on the development of Baldur’s Gate 3.
