Baldur’s Gate 3 Will Feature Cross-Save Support Between Xbox & PS5
Following the announcement of the new RPG Baldur’s Gate 3 making its way to Xbox sometime this year, the director of publishing at director Larian Studios, Michael Douse, confirmed new information regarding cross-save functionality.
Aside from cross-save functionality being implemented between Xbox and PC, players can also anticipate the same applying between Xbox and PlayStation 5. Further, cross-saving will be supported between PlayStation 5 and PC, too. So, each platform will boast this functionality.
This is a pretty big deal as the practice is highly user-friendly, and it’s something that more studios should embrace moving forward.
Check out the contents of the game’s first major patch. Patch 2 is also confirmed to arrive soon, implementing major performance improvements.
Baldur’s Gate 3 is available now on PC via Steam and will be released on PlayStation 5 on September 6, 2023.
An Xbox release was confirmed for later this year, though an exact date has not been provided. Interestingly, the Xbox Series X and Series S versions will not have parity, with the not set to have split-screen co-op. The Series S has been something of a conundrum for developers, so it’s nice to see it sorted out here.
