Azur Lane: Crosswave Announced for the West on PS4 With New Screenshots

Idea Factory International announced their plans to publish Azur Lane: Crosswave in the west both digitally and physically on PlayStation 4 in 2020.

Azur Lane is a mobile app game released in 2017 in China for iOS and Android devices. Since its launch, the game has become more and more popular with players hitting five million players within its first four months on the market.

Azur Lane: Crosswave branches off the success of the mobile game and brings it to console. Made in Unreal Engine the PS4 version of the game delivers all the shipfu action that players know for the mobile game onto consoles.

To hold players off until more information is available, the publisher released character screenshots of Ayanami, Javelin, Prinz Eugen, Laffey, and Ping Hai. The console version uses sprites from the mobile game and upgrades them using Unreal Engine to bring the characters to a 3D world.

During gameplay, players will need to defeat enemy ships and meet special criteria to unlock and customize new characters. The game allows players to customize their commander and collect new upgrades while figuring out their unique strengths and abilities. Additionally, the game features water warfare as players must take into consideration of enemy attacks and plan their strike accordingly.
