Ayakashi: Romance Reborn Mobile Game Announces End of New Content From October 2022 Onwards

Voltage just announced that the English version of their Ayakashi: Romance Reborn mobile gacha game will no longer receive any content updates from the end of October 2022 onwards.

The app will still be accessible, but no new Gachas or Events aside from the Birthday Draws scheduled for November and December will be held after that period. However, it is unknown if this means the servers will shut down after December, but I wouldn’t be surprised if we saw the End of Service notice at that date, given the current circumstances.

That being said, not all is lost because both the Dawn and Twilight chapters from the mobile game did get a Nintendo Switch release in a more visual-novel format. Only time will tell if we’ll get the third Night chapter in a similar manner.

ayakashi shutdown

For those unaware, Ayakashi: Romance Reborn is a Japanese card-based romance-action game, originally released for smartphones, with an offline Nintendo Switch release in 2021. The story is set in the Meiji period, revolving around a “thousand-year romance” with ayakashi, a name for monsters in Japanese folklore.

The heroine suddenly has her onmyoji power awaken and stumbles across ayakashi whom she once met in her past life 1,000 years ago. Together they expel evil spirits that roam the streets at night and eventually save the country by unveiling the truth behind a tragedy that happened in ancient times.
