Thomas Happ Games announced that the one-man developed adventure Axiom Verge has secured a sequel titled Axiom Verge 2. Currently, the game has only revealed a Nintendo Switch release coming sometime in 2020, with no other consoles announced at this time.
Axiom Verge 2 aims to expand on the universe created in the series as players meet new characters and go on a brand-new adventure. Additionally, the developer has confirmed that the game will feature additional abilities and gameplay mechanics that will be new to the series.
The developer also debuted gameplay for Axiom Verge 2, which retains much of what fans enjoyed about the first title. However, this time around players will explore more open areas along with snow-covered mountain tops. One element that is still present is the large enemies and clever platforming sections. During gameplay, players will use their abilities to traverse through this world. They’ll also have an arsenal of weapons at their disposal as the game focuses on fast action with an emphasis on using abilities to get through tough situations.
While Axiom Verge launched on almost every console imaginable, we don’t see a PlayStation Vita or Wii U release on the horizon of this new adventure.
