Axiom Verge 2 Delayed to 2021 to Refine Additional Features

Earlier this year, developer Thomas Happ Games announced that Axiom Verge 2 will launch in Fall 2020. However, the developer has shared a blog post explaining that the game will be delayed to 2021.

The delay comes after features that have been implemented into the game are taking longer to refine than originally predicted. Elements such as the enemies being more sophisticated as they detect your presence instead of being on a set path. Furthermore, an additional tool is used to glitch the enemies and environments that give players more control. There’s also a factor in which the art has been updated and is much more complex than the original game.

Axiom Verge 2 aims to expand on the universe created in the series as players meet new characters and go on a brand-new adventure. Additionally, the developer has confirmed that the game will feature additional abilities and gameplay mechanics new to the series.

The game is being developed by one person who is also dealing with adapting to the Coronavirus’s impact on his daily life. Still, he is grateful to those waiting for the release but requires more time to make it the game he has set out to create.

Currently, Axiom Verge 2 is in development for Nintendo Switch.
