AxE: Alliance vs Empire Launches Worldwide; Check Out New Gameplay Videos
We’ve explored Nexon Red’s mobile MMORPG AxE: Alliance vs Empire quite a bit already since we did a preview on the title, shared the changes in the release for the West, and learned more about the Western release thanks to Nexon Red’s CEO. Previously, we knew that the title would be coming soon, but we didn’t know how soon. However, we know now as Nexon Red has officially released AxE: Alliance vs Empire worldwide to the App Store for iPhone and iPad and on Google Play for Android devices. It’s free-to-play but does include in-app purchases.
With AxE‘s worldwide release, players around the world can now enjoy its fantasy storyline and campaign, massive open world, cooperative dungeons and raids, and variety of competitive player-vs-player (PVP) modes. To celebrate the game’s launch, Nexon Red has included a special AxE starter kit that’s available to all players who download AxE, however, it’s only available for a limited time.
Via press release, Tommy Lee, General Manager of Nexon M, shared why there are plenty of reasons to celebrate AxE‘s worldwide release:
“Nexon RED has tapped the power of modern mobile devices to provide a PC and console-quality MMO experience in AxE featuring a breadth of single-player, cooperative and competitive gameplay modes with an incredible amount of depth. We’re excited to bring AxE to a global audience of MMO gamers today and look forward to an exciting journey in this unique fantasy world for years to come.”
AxE is set in a sprawling fantasy universe where two warring factions, the Darkhaan Empire, which fights for law and order and the Galanos Alliance, who battles for self governance, clash to control the fate of the world. At the start of AxE, players must first choose between one of the two factions (Galanos Alliance, for the win). Once players chose a side, they then select from one of the three unique character classes (tank, support, ranger) on each faction. While players select one class and one character, each character can be tailored to fit every play style preference as players can choose from an arsenal of weapons, armor and special abilities.
There is a single-player campaign to take on in which players can fully explore an array of open-world locations, meet interesting characters, get loot, and more, but the real meat and potatoes are the PvE (player-versus-enemy) co-op and PvP (player-versus-player) modes in AxE. Battles in AxE offer a variety of real-time competitive modes, ranging from tactical 4v4 matches to large-scale 75 vs 75 faction warfare — however, the 75 vs 75 will be added to the game soon. Taking part in jolly cooperation is the way to go as cooperative battles and raids give players a chance to team up to take on powerful enemies and dungeon bosses.
As far as PvP goes, one neat feature is the Chase and Revenge feature that grants players the ability to track and pursue enemy players in the game in real-time, so hiding from battle is impossible. To come up with a better battle strategy or to simply just chat, players can also easily communicate and interact with their fellow faction mates thanks to social systems which include chat and team management. Sadly, however, there isn’t voice chat option in the game, but maybe it’ll be added later.
