Award-Winning Aquatic Adventure ‘ABZÛ’ Gets Nintendo Switch Release This Month

Nintendo Switch gamers will soon be able to take a deep dive into a beautiful underwater journey. Independent publisher 505 Games have announced that the award-winning aquatic adventure, ABZÛ, is swimming to the Nintendo Switch next Thursday, November 29 for $19.99.

ABZÛ is currently available for pre-order, and those who purchase it ahead of its launch will receive a limited-time 10% discount. For Joycon fans out there, the game will support full Joy Con support.

Developed by Giant Squid Studios — which is led by Matt Nava, who served as an art director for a couple of gems you might know of like Journey and Flower – and featuring a beautiful soundtrack by award-winning composer Austin Wintory, ABZÛ is one of the most relaxing games I’ve ever played. In the game, you play as a lone diver who must explore a lush ocean world with plenty of majestic creatures and ancient secrets to discover.

The game first took a dive to the PlayStation 4 and PC in August 2016, then made a trip to the Xbox One later that year. Thanks to its warm and inviting visuals, epic orchestral soundtrack, and captivating unspoken narrative, ABZÛ received numerous awards, like the 2016 International Film Music Critics Association award for “Best Original Score for a Video Game or Interactive Media”, and multiple nominations.

Author’s Take: Thanksgiving and the week after Thanksgiving can be stressful! If you need to just relax and take it easy, I highly suggest playing ABZÛ. I loved playing it on PS4.
