2016’s Nurse Love Addiction taught me to never underestimate a yuri visual novel which revolves around cute girls with large dreams. These types of games are the ones you would expect to be strictly light-hearted without any real plot. Now, with its sequel, Nurse Love Syndrome shares similar themes with its predecessor and also attempts to include more hospital jargon that revolves around these cute nurses and their shared romance. The overall mystery presented in Nurse Love Syndrome turned out to be a thrilling experience even with all the distracting nurses. Something to keep in mind is that Nurse Love…

I honestly never thought there would be a day in my life where the Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney Trilogy would get ported to PC along with several other consoles, but the impossible happened. Now, I’m sure everyone who is a fan of visual novels definitely knows this series well, which previously got released on the 3DS in 2014. Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney was on my plan-to-play list for a very long time given that I only heard great things about it, but since I am not that eager to play on my 3DS I ended up holding off for a…

It finally happened, the spooky adventure game Death Mark got a PC release following its previous release on PlayStation Vita and PlayStation 4. As I consider myself being more of a PC fangirl, I was eagerly waiting for the PC release of Death Mark. Given this is my first time playing this game, without any knowledge of the console versions before, I ended up getting quite surprised with how much I ended up enjoying the game. To not give away too much early on, I almost finished Death Mark in one go because I couldn’t help wanting to find out…

As someone who is a fan of the Corpse Party series, I was very excited when the localization of Corpse Party: Sweet Sachiko’s Hysteric Birthday Bash finally happened. Although I was a bit hesitant at first given that this game is unlike the other entries in this series so far, I found that it had a nice mix of horror and comedy at the same time, even with a little bit of added romance. https://youtu.be/aDuNd8_HoMo I would like to mention that Corpse Party: Sweet Sachiko’s Hysteric Birthday Bash is a midquel between Corpse Party and Corpse Party: Book of Shadows,…

Inspired by JRPGs of the 90s, Grimshade had me curious. While Grimshade started out to be a fun experience in the beginning, sadly, it didn’t quite live up to my expectations. It’s made clear after a few hours that it would have been better suited to release on Steam Early Access instead, as its current state is a complete mess. This is disappointing because Grimshade has the potential of becoming an interesting game with fun turn-based combat but unfortunately failed to do so. https://youtu.be/8860OwzfWH4 Grimshade follows the protagonist, Alister, who is considered a champion that’s on a quest to try…

Large open world games can typically leave me lost which is why I find myself gravitating towards more straight forward adventures. As someone who is eternally in love with visual novels, I jumped at playing a game like Chromatose, a visual novel with RPG elements, see, the best of both worlds. After playing, I found a lot of things to like about its truly interesting premise and deep plot, but most importantly, it didn’t fail to meet my expectations. https://youtu.be/Wx_YdJBldGA The story follows the main protagonist, named Leroy, who supposedly wakes up from a coma. He immediately notices something seems…

Do you know the feeling when you see a game for the very first time but already have the preconceived notion that you will definitely immortally fall in love with it? That’s exactly how I felt when I first saw Lilycle Rainbow Stage!!!, a visual novel from developer Particle and localized by MangaGamer. Being a fan of yuri visual novels, it was a given that I would jump at the thought of playing such a cute looking game. I really wanted to take the time to get to know the game’s fifteen different girls and fall for each of them.…

As someone who looks forward to yuri visual novels, I was very excited when I first heard about the release of National Park Girls, a game developed by the same studio who released another yuri visual novel that I enjoyed titled Highway Blossoms. National Park Girls seems to be built on a unique and hilarious premise that I just had to experience. Being that I am also a fan of romantic comedy, in general, having interest in this title was a no brainer — I mean one character is a cute girl with a volcano on her head, which is…

As a big fan of MoeNovel’s visual novels, I looked forward to the release of If My Heart Had Wings -Flight Diary-. Although I started If My Heart Had Wings before, sadly, I didn’t get to finish it. After playing through -Flight Diary- I will definitely take this as a motivation to go back and finish it though as I absolutely enjoyed what -Flight Diary- has to offer. https://youtu.be/ibw6NkpLntg If My Heart Had Wings -Flight Diary- tells the story of multiple characters of If My Heart Had Wings. It counts as a spin-off of the base game and includes its epilogue, prologue, and different other stories. Each story is…

Being that Dies irae is a popular franchise that I have found myself invested in, I was excited when I heard that the spin-off would also be headed west. However, I will admit that when I started playing Dies irae ~Interview with Kaziklu Bey~, I was a little surprised since it was centered around a love story involving Wilhelm Ehrenburg. Now, I’m sure you all are wondering what is so surprising about a simple love story, but those who already played the base game Dies irae ~Amantes amentes~, might know what I am referring to. Wilhelm is no ordinary man…

As a fan of JRPGs and Visual Novels Eternal Radiance has caught my interest since the very beginning. After seeing the Kickstarter failing to get funding, I’m glad that the developer still decided to not give up this project. Eternal Radiance is a game which focusses on storytelling with its Visual Novel elements while containing gameplay. In a preview demo, I was able to see what the beginning of the game looks like including the first dungeon. This is the same game as Destiny Chronicles and only got a name change. https://youtu.be/CVcgDiaT2yQ The demo of Eternal Radiance lasts about 1-3 hours, depending on whether you decide to…

As a super-duper Yuri fangirl, I knew Heart of the Woods was a game I had to experience after I first heard about it. With that said, it’s exciting for me to get that chance. Heart of the Woods has the visual presentation of a fairytale, which quickly grabbed my attention and, thankfully, took me on adventure fitting of the theme. It’s tough for me to describe what makes Heart of the Woods so special in an intro as it was different than I originally expected. This ended up making the game a more enjoyable experience for me since I rarely knew what was going to…

When I looked at a screenshot of Steam Prison for the very first time, I had a preconceived notion that the game was simply gorgeous. Luckily for me, MangaGamer announced that they will localize the steampunk-themed otome game. Since I consider myself to be a huge Sci-Fi geek, I was looking forward to its release, and it finally has. I have to admit, I had high expectations for Steam Prison — I mean an otome game with steampunk elements, that’s a must play. After playing through it, I can definitely say this game didn’t let me down. https://youtu.be/DuxyNukNhj8 Steam Prison has players step…

To be honest, before starting Arcade Spirits I had mixed feelings about it. I wasn’t sure what to expect since this game doesn’t seem like it has that much of a plot. To put it simply, Arcade Spirits looked more like a weird and crazy game, but that doesn’t mean it’s bad. However, after playing through the game, I was pleasantly surprised. I found myself constantly laughing at the game’s hilarious references and weird dialogues that made Arcade Spirits a lovely game to experience. The story of Arcade Spirits begins in 20XX, Ari Cader is unemployed and her best friend suggests her to use an app that will…

I’m always up for a good supernatural mystery novel. I just enjoy the way that they seem to introduce a totally crazy premise and wrap it all up in the conclusion leaving me at the edge of my seat. So you can probably guess that I jumped at the chance to review the Palette developed visual novel 9-Nine-: Episode 1 as its premise is as out there as they come. However, the story ended up not keeping my interest in its promise of mystery, but rather that optimistic personality of the characters. 9-Nine- is a supernatural murder mystery episodic visual novel series. As of…
