Audeze Reveals The Penrose Wireless Headset for Console and PC Gaming

In the past, Audeze has been known for manufacturing headphones built around audio engineering and music production. They have brought their talents to the video game market by creating headphones build for gamers.

Now, the company has announced their new Penrose wireless headset for console and PC gamers with a planned release for early September. The Penrose has been designed with Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5 in mind to take full advantage of the new hardware. The headphones are equipped with 100mm planar magnetic drivers, a broadcast-quality microphone for enhanced chat and streaming, and a 2.4 GHz low-latency lossless wireless connection.

“We’re excited to finally offer gamers a true wireless planar headset,” says Audeze CEO Sankar Thiagasamudram, adding “Penrose is a huge leap forward for wireless console gaming audio and we can’t wait for people to hear it.”

There are two versions of the headset available, which depends on the console you will be playing on. There’s the Penrose, compatible with PS4, PS5, and PC, and the Penrose X, compatible with Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and PC. Both headsets will retail for $299, but the first 1000 pre-orders will be priced at $249.99.
