Univrs announced they are developing Attack on Titan VR: Unbreakable, an action-adventure game set in the Attack on Titan universe where players swing around using 3D Maneuver Gear to take down enormous titans.
“We have heard fans’ voices from the Attack on Titan community and are eager to give them what they want,” said Keigo Fujikawa, CEO of Univrs. “You have been patiently waiting since we first announced Attack on Titan VR: Unbreakable in 2022, and are thrilled to share all of our hard work with audiences.”
The game will launch in the Meta Quest Store Early Access on Tuesday, July 23, 2024, for Meta Quest Pro|2|3. Early Access will consist of the first two chapters, each offering 2-3 hours of gameplay. The game will be available for $4.99, and feedback from Early Access will help the development of the game as they update it with English and Japanese voiceovers.
Attack on Titan VR: Unbreakable invites players into a VR experience based on the popular manga and anime series Attack on Titan. In this game, players become members of the Scout Regiment, tasked with defending humanity from the terrifying Titans. Utilizing the Omni-Directional Mobility (ODM) Gear, players can zip through the air, scout for threats, and engage in high-flying combat against monstrous enemies. The immersive VR environment faithfully recreates the world of “Attack on Titan,” complete with accurately scaled cityscapes and towering Titans that instill a genuine sense of fear and urgency.
During the early access period, players can dive into various missions, from defending outposts and securing supply drops to battling increasingly difficult Titans. Completing timed objectives earns stars that unlock better equipment, upgraded blades, firearms, and new skills and abilities. The game also features voice actors from both the English and Japanese versions of the anime, enhancing the nostalgic experience for fans.
