Atlus Teases Upcoming Persona 5 Related News on Original Game’s 5th Anniversary; Persona 25th Anniversary Hashtag Used
Atlus Japan’s official Persona Twitter account posted a tweet earlier today celebrating the original Persona 5’s 5th anniversary. In this celebratory post, it was noted that fans should be on the lookout for more upcoming information on developments regarding the Phantom Thieves. Further, the Persona 25th Anniversary hashtag was used, resulting in a whirlwind of speculation and excitement.
For those unaware, to celebrate the 25-year anniversary of the Persona franchise, a brand new website was launched stating thanks to the fans that have aided in growing the series to this long-lasting extent. Additionally, the website states that there will be a series of 7 project announcements beginning from September 2021 to Autumn of 2022.
Furthermore, a considerable slew of merchandise is currently on sale featuring facets of the entire series, even including the protagonists of the original Persona, Persona 2: Innocent Sin, and Persona 2: Eternal Punishment.
With us now being around halfway through September, it’s safe to expect the first announcement any time now. However, it is worth noting that expectations should be tempered since, with monthly announcements planned from now up until Fall 2022, there will assuredly be various small-scale bits of news instead of constant redefining developments for the franchise. I am admittedly quite thrilled, though, and am eagerly awaiting whatever Atlus is cooking up.
