Atlus Reveals Soul Hackers 2 with Trailer and Live-Action Skit; August Release Date

Atlus Japan has been hosting information streams about their upcoming Soul Hackers game, and have revealed on the latest stream that the new project is in fact, Soul Hackers 2. This announcement was made with Live Action theatre-esque performance, followed by the first proper trailer.

You can watch the Live Action performance below in the stream below.

This was followed shortly by the first official trailer for the new JRPG Soul Hackers 2, which contained an ensemble of characters led by a main heroine named Ringo, who says she’s a superintelligent being born from the sea of information. The video mentions various plot bits such as Devil Summoners, The Great One fated to destroy the world, and Phantom Society. Together they’ll have to fight to avoid an apocalyptical threat.

For those unaware, Soul Hackers is a Shin Megami Tensei offshoot that last released for the 3DS, under Devil Summoner: Soul Hackers. Initially Soul Hackers was considered an entry in the Devil Summoner subseries of Shin Megami Tensei games, but with Soul Hackers 2, it is now its own thing while still retaining some ties to the subfranchise.

Soul Hackers 2 will release in Japan on the August 25, and in the West on August 26 for PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5 and Xbox systems.
