Atelier Sophie 2: The Alchemist of the Mysterious Dream Releasing For PS4 and Switch in February According to Best Buy Listing

A duo of Best Buy listings have seemingly revealed an unannounced sequel set in the Atelier universe, Atelier Sophie 2: The Alchemist of the Mysterious Dream. These listings indicate the title to be released for Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4 on February 25, 2022.

Both listings also provide several screenshots for the unannounced title, showcasing battles, synthesis, and character interaction.

Atelier Sophie 2: The Alchemist of the Mysterious Dream would be the sequel to Atelier Sophie: The Alchemist of the Mysterious Book, the first entry of the Mysterious trilogy of the Atelier franchise that was released back in 2015.

This wouldn’t be the first time an Atelier game would receive a direct sequel either. Atelier Lulua ~The Scion of Arland, released back in 2019, is the direct sequel to Atelier Rorona: The Alchemist of Arland, an early title in the franchise and the first of the Arland trilogy.

Regardless, at this time, we must simply await official confirmation from Koei Tecmo regarding this sequel’s existence. Atelier Sophie has been one of the more beloved and popular entries in the series, so seeing it receive a sequel is not too surprising. Still, considering how long ago it was initially released, I think some shock is justified to an extent.
