Koei Tecmo Teases Western Atelier Ryza Announcement Coming Later This Week
Koei Temco launched a short teaser this morning to tease a western announcement for Atelier Ryza: The Queen of Eternal Darkness and the Secret Hideout coming on June 27.
The trailer is kept short, but quickly shows a few of the characters including the new main protagonist Ryzalin Staud. From Japanese press releases, we have gathered that Ryzalin is your typical everyday girl who has become bored with her mundane lifestyle. After meeting someone special, she discovers alchemy and her whole life changes. She then sets out on an adventure that she never thought she’d go on.
Players will be able to travel to new fields and explore deeper than any Atelier title before. Gathering items will require players to use tools which determines the outcome. Battles will see the return of a refined turn-based command system that focuses heavier on making battles feel more epic and aggressive. Players will also become stronger depending on their bond between party members.
Atelier Ryza is aiming to be graphically better than any of the Atelier titles in the past. While there won’t be any romance in the game, players will be able to experience a bittersweet story that resembles summer memories.
Atelier Ryza: The Queen of Eternal Darkness and the Secret Hideout is in development for PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
