Koei Tecmo released a new trailer for the Gust developed adventure JRPG Atelier Ryza: Ever Darkness & the Secret Hideout, coming to PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and PC on October 29.
The trailer features the game’s main theme song Summer Rainbow, but it also shows Ryza and the other characters over its almost two-minute runtime. Interestingly, the trailer also shows some moments of distress, which is not really common in the series that usually stays pretty lighthearted and doesn’t establish an antagonist until the final act of the game. It makes it feel like a new Atelier experience so it’s going to be interesting to see how the story unfolds in this entry.
Atelier Ryza tells the story of a new character in the Atelier series, Ryzalin, a typical everyday girl who has become bored with her mundane lifestyle. After meeting someone special, she discovers alchemy and her whole life changes. She then sets out on an adventure that she never thought she’d go on.
Atelier Ryza is aiming to be graphically better than any of the Atelier titles in the past. While there won’t be any romance in the game, players will be able to experience a bittersweet story that resembles summer memories.
In case you missed it, the publisher also released a new trailer showing some event and battle scenes.
