Atelier Ryza 3: Alchemist of the End & The Secret Key Update Adjusts Depth of Field, Combat Timing & More

Developer Gust and publisher Koei Tecmo have announced that their turn-based JRPG Atelier Ryza 3: Alchemist of the End & The Secret Key has been updated on all platforms, remedying bugs and adjusting various features.

The newest patch notes are quoted below:

  • Adjustment of the depth of field for the overall game.
  • Adjusted the button input response time when connecting a normal attack to a skill attack during combat.
  • Fixed an issue that occasionally caused the surface of the water to disappear.
  • Adjusted the size of the copyright notice displayed in the lower left corner when a screenshot is taken with the video output setting of the PlayStation 5 or PlayStation 4 set to resolution other than 2160p.
  • [For Steam] Fixed an issue where some key icons were not displayed correctly when using a 4K monitor.

Lead writer Yashichiro Takahashi has returned to write this third entry. Taking place a year after Ryza 2, the titular protagonist and her friends discover newly appearing islands near their home of Kurken Island. The party decides to investigate these mysterious happenings but ends up finding a gate within some ruins, with a voice wanting to lead Ryza to the Code of the Universe.

Four regions are explorable in an open field, all boasting seamless transitions. Keys will also be found and created; they all have unique effects for synthesis, battle, and exploration. Moreover, a total of 11 party members are available, featuring returning and new characters.

Atelier Ryza 3: Alchemist of the End & The Secret Key is now available worldwide on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam.

An Atelier Ryza anime was officially announced with a Summer 2023 premiere window.
