Atelier Ryza 3: Alchemist of the End & The Secret Key Playtime Estimated at 30 Hours; 60 for Completionists

In the March 30, 2023, issue of Famitsu magazine, developer Gust revealed that the upcoming conclusion to the Atelier Ryza trilogy, Atelier Ryza 3: Alchemist of the End & The Secret Key, will take roughly 30 hours to beat, while 60 hours is expected for completionists. Additionally, Famitsu gave the game a 34/40, which is the culmination of four reviewers rating the title out of 10. The given scores were specifically 8, 9, 9, and then 8.

When looking at the average playtimes of the previous two entries, Ryza 3’s is in the same ballpark, so fans should expect the same amount of content this time around. At the very least, players have a general, albeit vague, idea of what they’re getting into.

In case you missed it, the developer confirmed that a broadcast on March 19, 2023, will show a new trailer and DLC information.

Lead writer Yashichiro Takahashi has returned to write this third entry. Taking place a year after Ryza 2, the titular protagonist and her friends discover newly appearing islands, called the Kark Isles, near their home of Kurken Island. The party decides to investigate these mysterious happenings but ends up finding a gate within some ruins, with a voice wanting to lead Ryza to the Code of the Universe.

Four regions will be explorable in an open field, all boasting seamless transitions. Keys will also be found and created; they all have unique effects for synthesis, battle, and exploration. Moreover, a total of 11 party members are confirmed.

Atelier Ryza 3: Alchemist of the End & The Secret Key will launch for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam on March 24, 2023.
