Atelier Ryza 3: Alchemist of the End & The Secret Key Reveals Free Post-Launch DLC; 1,000 Atelier Songs, New Area, Legend Difficulty & More

Developer Gust and Koei Tecmo have revealed more post-launch content for their upcoming turn-based item crafting JRPG, Atelier Ryza 3: Alchemist of the End & The Secret Key.

Alongside breaking down the previously revealed Season Pass content, free waves were announced. Firstly, the game’s Photo Mode will receive new frames and motions before April 2023 concludes. Further, the Weasel Roast, Lamb Roast, and Devil Roast artifacts will be added within that same time frame. Their functionalities are quoted below:

  • Lamb Roast – Measures how much damage can be dealt in five turns of battle. Will provide rewards based on total damage, the maximum number of chains, and the maximum damage from a single attack.
  • Weasel Roast – allows players to battle and defeat monsters under set conditions. Will provide rewards if the opponent can be defeated within five turns.
  • Devil Roast – Allows players to change the opponent of Lamb Roast or Weasel Roast into any monster they wish.

Access to the Roast artifacts will only be available once the player reaches a “specific point in the game after the midpoint.”

Next, the staple Legend difficulty will be added as a free update before the end of June 2023. And the free Legacy BGM Pack will include over 1,000 tracks since the first Atelier game. This is separate from the paid Gust Extra BGM Pack.

Lastly, the Ashra-am Baird Outlying Areas, “based on the outlying regions of the royal capital, Ashra-am Baird featured in Atelier Ryza 2,” will be implemented. This new exploration area will also have new World Quests, though this content can only be accessed once the “Riding on the Dragon Vein” main quest scenario is completed. The new events will not have any voice acting, either.

Atelier Ryza 3 6

Lead writer Yashichiro Takahashi has returned to write this third entry. Taking place a year after Ryza 2, the titular protagonist and her friends discover newly appearing islands, called the Kark Isles, near their home of Kurken Island. The party decides to investigate these mysterious happenings but ends up finding a gate within some ruins, with a voice wanting to lead Ryza to the Code of the Universe.

Four regions will be explorable in an open field, all boasting seamless transitions. Keys will also be found and created; they all have unique effects for synthesis, battle, and exploration. Moreover, a total of 11 party members are confirmed, featuring returning and new characters.

In case you missed it, an Atelier Ryza anime was officially announced.

Atelier Ryza 3: Alchemist of the End & The Secret Key will launch for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam on March 24, 2023.
