Atelier Ryza 3: Alchemist of the End & The Secret Key Reveals New English Trailer, Screenshots & Gameplay Details

Publisher Koei Tecmo and developer Gust have shared a new English trailer for their upcoming turn-based JRPG, Atelier Ryza 3: Alchemist of the End & The Secret Key, highlighting several general gameplay features and briefly showcasing characters from previous entries.

When Ryza decides to visit the village of Faurre for aid from her old friends, Empel and Lila, she discovers they’re being held captive. However, Patricia Abelheim ends up saving the day with her improved swordsmanship. With her help, both Empel and Lila are freed, and the three returning characters join the party to cooperate with Ryza in learning more about the bizarre new islands that have suddenly spawned, harming her home of Kurken.

Regarding combat, it has evolved from Atelier Ryza 2: Lost Legends & the Secret Fairy. Five party members of the eleven choosable ones can actively participate in battle, and the addition of the new Keys mechanic alongside transitions will allow for quicker encounters.

Three party members fight up front, while two remain in the rear, with skill usage and swapping possible mid-combat. Some skills can be activated by responding to friends. Keys, on the other hand, can be directly equipped, temporarily strengthening a character’s capabilities and reducing all action wait times to zero, enabling constant attacks.

Keys are also utilized in synthesis to improve recipe outcomes by heightening results’ levels, quality, and quantity. The new “Link Morph” synthesis ability will let players add effects to items where it was previously impossible to. Further, some items will feature a “Super Trait,” allowing for even more potent creations.
