Atelier Ryza 2: Lost Legends & the Secret Fairy Gets Story and Synthesis Details
Koei Tecmo revealed new gameplay details for the Gust-developed adventure RPG, Atelier Ryza 2: Lost Legends & the Secret Fairy, on PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and PC this Winter.
During Atelier Ryza 2, Ryza will set out on a journey away from her hometown of Kurken island and visit the Royal Capital of Ashra-am Baird, where she plans to set up her own atelier shop and explore the ancient ruins surrounding the land. Ryza will also meet with her old friends Tao and Bos, along with some new companions, Sherri Glaus, Partricia ‘Patty’ Abelheim, Volker Abelheim, and Clifford Diswell.
This opens up new ways of exploration as she is now able to swing, climb, crawl, and maneuver herself through tight areas to collect materials. Some of these new activities require items like the Emerald Band for swinging or Air Drops to swim long distances underwater.
Synthese returns in Atelier Ryza 2 this time using the Linkage Synthesis systems from the previous entry with a few more features. Players can fill the Material Loops with ingredients and create new items. An added system is Essence which allows players to alter the elemental trait of an item during synthesis to take on brand new qualities. Also, there’s an Evolution Link that combines two fully synthesized items together that may create an entirely new item.
Those who purchase Atelier Ryza 2 within the first two weeks of release receive an Early Purchase Bonus of bathing suits.
Atelier Ryza 2: Lost Legends & the Secret Fairy takes place after the events of Atelier Ryza: Ever Darkness & the Secret Hideout, which shipped 420,000 copies worldwide. Atelier Ryza tells the story of a new character in the Atelier series, Ryzalin, a typical everyday girl who has become bored with her mundane lifestyle. After meeting someone special, she discovers alchemy and her whole life changes. She then sets out on an adventure that she never thought she’d go on.
