Koei Tecmo revealed new gameplay details for the Gust-developed adventure RPG, Atelier Ryza 2: Lost Legends & the Secret Fairy, on PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and PC this Winter.
The details focus on exploration as Ryza and her crew will have access to a bit more interactive elements out on the field. In this entry, players will be able to solve unique puzzles as they travel deeper into the mysterious ruins around the Royal Capital.
Overcoming environmental puzzles in the field will allow the group to progress their adventure. However, there are other means of getting around by using the new field action to ride monsters across the land.
Throughout the journey, players can organize everything in Ryza’s Exploration Diary. As players make discoveries and complete their Research List while collecting ‘Ruin Fragments’ and “Memory Fragments”, they will unlock clues that will then be stored in the diary.
Players will be able to evoke memories from the ruins that allow them to see the general location of where Ruin Fragments are located. By successfully piecing together the clues, the mysteries of the ruins will become clearer. By solving these puzzles, players will be able to unlock special alchemy recipes to aid them on their quest, along with helping Ryza grow.
Atelier Ryza 2: Lost Legends & the Secret Fairy takes place after the events of Atelier Ryza: Ever Darkness & the Secret Hideout, which shipped 420,000 copies worldwide. Atelier Ryza tells the story of a new character in the Atelier series, Ryzalin, a typical everyday girl who has become bored with her mundane lifestyle. After meeting someone special, she discovers alchemy, and her whole life changes. She then sets out on an adventure that she never thought she’d go on.
